SKIMMER REPLACEMENT
1. Cut a clean box of around 2X2 around the skimmer leaving the coping intact.
2. Remove the concrete and the skimmer carefully.  You must leave the plumbing able to be tied back into and disturb the tile in the skimmer as little as possible.
3. Test fit the new skimmer to the wall.  The throat of the new skimmer should be able to sit flush to the existing tile throat.
4. Plumb the new skimmer into the existing plumbing.
5. Pressure test the skimmer line to verify the plumbing you are tying into and the joints you just made are sound.
6. Anchor the skimmer to the wall utilizing lag shields, eye bolts, toggles and stainless steel cable.
7. Form a box around the skimmer.
8. Encase the skimmer in concrete.  Be certain to work the concrete into all of the nooks and crannies around the skimmer throat.  You should fill the form up leaving the deck section as a second pour.
9. Install the skimmer collar.
10. Replace the concrete of the pool deck.
11. Allow to cure for one week.
12. Texture the fresh concrete to match the existing deck.
13. Paint the square of the deck to match the existing deck.
14. Repair any tiles and grout inside the skimmer throat.
